Update your firm profile
Keep your firm's name, contact details, practice areas and office addresses up to date. They appear on invoices, letters and client emails.
Where your firm profile is used
Your firm profile is how your firm appears on invoices, letters and client emails. Your practice areas are also used when you open a matter and to route new enquiries.
To open it, go to Settings, then Firm profile.
Anyone in the firm can see the profile. Only firm admins can change it. If you're not an admin, the page says Only firm admins can change these details and the fields are locked.
Edit the firm's details
- Under Details, check the Firm name.
- Add a short description under About the firm (optional), up to 256 characters.
- Enter the firm's Phone (optional) and Email (optional).
- Choose your Firm size.
- Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.
The Add your firm details step on Today is done once your profile has at least one office and a contact email.
Choose your practice areas
Under Practice areas, click each area your firm practises. Selected areas are highlighted. Click one again to remove it. You must keep at least one.
Click Save changes when you're done.
Add or edit an office
Offices are the addresses shown on your letters and invoices.
- Under Offices, click Add office.
- Give it an Office name (optional), for example "Head office".
- Start typing in Address and pick the right address from the suggestions. Chronica fills in the state, city and postal code for you where it can.
- Check the State and City, and add a Landmark (optional) or Postal code (optional) if you like.
- Click Save changes.
To change an office, edit its fields and save. To remove one, click Remove next to its name, then Save changes.
Choosing a state clears the city, so pick the state first and then the city.
Questions
Where do I add our logo and brand colours?
They aren't part of the firm profile. The logo and colour your clients see in the client portal are set under Settings, then Client portal.
Why can't I edit anything?
Only people with the Admin role can change the firm profile. See Roles and permissions.
I skipped the practice questions when I signed up
Add your practice areas and firm size here. See Set up your firm for what else to do first.
