Why firms switch

Three things that cost a practice every week

A chambers desk in Lagos stacked with case files and a handwritten diary, a phone beside them full of client messages asking for updates.
Before

The diary lives in one clerk's bag

Miss a next date and you miss a hearing. Nobody else knows what happened in court until the clerk is back.

With Chronica

One diary the whole chambers sees. Record the outcome from court and the next date goes in by itself.

Close-up of a lawyer holding her phone, a list of unread WhatsApp chats from clients asking about their cases.
Before

Client updates scattered across ten chats

Clients call to ask what happened. What you told them sits in someone's personal WhatsApp, not on the file.

With Chronica

Send the update from the matter. It reaches the client's portal and WhatsApp, and stays on the file.

A firm accountant comparing a bank alert on her phone against a printed list of outstanding professional fees.
Before

Appearance fees nobody invoiced

Transfers arrive with no narration. Someone spends Friday matching alerts to clients, and some fees are never billed.

With Chronica

Appearance fees bill when you record the hearing. Each invoice has its own account, so payments match themselves.

Court diary and hearings

Every adjournment, already in the diary

Each hearing carries its court, judge, suit number and purpose. After court, record what happened in a few taps. Chronica adds the next date, reminds whoever is going and keeps the history on the matter.

  • Mention, hearing, ruling, judgment: each shown its own way
  • Clashes flagged when one lawyer is listed in two courts
  • Daily cause list for the chambers, by court and by lawyer

Fees the Nigerian way

Bill by stage, by appearance, or both

Set the fee the way you agreed it with the client: a fixed fee in stages, a fee for each appearance, a retainer drawn down, or hourly when you need it. Chronica knows what is due and what is still unbilled.

  • Appearance fees added the moment a hearing outcome is saved
  • Firm defaults per practice area, changed per matter
  • Invoices with VAT at 7.5%, expenses and filing fees passed through

Online payments

Clients pay the way they already pay

Every invoice has a pay link. Clients pay by bank transfer to an account made for that invoice, by USSD or by card. The invoice marks itself paid, and the money settles to your firm's bank account the next working day.

Bank transfer USSD Card Next working day

Payments are collected securely and paid out to your firm's bank account.

Questions

Asked before signing up

Something else? Ask us on WhatsApp

Can we move from a paper diary or Excel?

Yes. Import clients and matters from a spreadsheet, and add upcoming hearings in one sitting. On the Firm plan our team helps move your data in.

How do clients pay, and when do we get the money?

Clients pay by bank transfer, USSD or card from the invoice link. Payments settle to your firm's bank account the next working day.

Do our clients need to download an app?

No. Clients open their portal in any browser and sign in with a code sent to their phone. Updates also reach them on WhatsApp.

What is a lawyer seat and a staff seat?

A lawyer seat is for anyone who handles matters, records billable time or uses the AI assistant. Staff seats are for secretaries, clerks, paralegals and accountants, at ₦3,000 a month each.

Does the AI assistant do legal research?

Not today. It works on your firm's own files: matters, notes, documents and emails, and cites every answer. It never invents case law.

What happens when the 14-day trial ends?

Pick a plan and pay by transfer, card or USSD. Everything you set up during the trial stays as it is.

Your next adjournment, already in the diary
