Set up with starters
Start from Chronica's ready-made forms, matter templates, documents, fees and messages. Each one becomes your firm's own copy to change.
What a starter is
A starter is a ready-made form, matter template, document template, fee arrangement, client message, pipeline, service, compliance rule or website page written by Chronica for Nigerian practice. When you use one, Chronica copies it into your firm. The copy is yours: change or delete anything.
Anything clients see (website forms, client messages and website pages) is created switched off or as a draft unless you choose to switch it on. Starters with legal wording are marked Check before use until a lawyer at your firm marks them reviewed. The wording is a starting point, not legal advice.
Set up a bundle
- Open Settings, then Starters.
- Under Bundles, choose Finish this bundle, Review or Preview.
- Turn off anything you don't want, then choose Review.
- Read the list under Here's exactly what we'll create.
- Tick the box to confirm the starter wording is a starting point, and tick the second box if you want client-facing items switched on now.
- Choose Create.
You can also choose Turn on all recommended to create every item your practice focus recommends.
Use one starter
Every settings area has Start with a starter at the top: Forms, Document templates, Matter templates, Fees and billing, Intake pipelines, Services, Compliance rules, Client messages and Website pages.
- Choose Preview to see exactly what you'll get.
- Choose Use this. For a website form, choose the page, where enquiries go, the automatic replies and Publish now or Save as draft, then choose Add to website as draft.
When Chronica improves a starter
Your copy never changes on its own. When a starter has a new version you see Update available.
- Choose See what changed (or Starter updated · see what changed in the form editor).
- Tick the changes you want. Changes to things you edited yourself are left unticked.
- Choose Take changes, or Keep mine, dismiss this update.
Taken changes wait in a draft until you publish them. Reset to starter puts your copy back to the starter version it came from; your own version is kept in its history.
